Will H5N1 bird flu cause the next pandemic? |

At the
present time, H5N1 remains a bird disease. There has been a
relatively small amount of human cases, mostly the result of close
contact with infected poultry. However, as H5N1 mutates, the virus
could become capable of infecting humans and spreading from person
to person which could result in the next pandemic. That is why
health experts are suggesting we take this threat very seriously and
begin to prepare for it.
