Community Partners to provide free flu vaccines and health screenings

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011— Several community partners are coming together to provide free flu vaccinations and health screenings to the public.

The event will take place from 1-5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9 at Catherine Kasper Place, 2826 S. Calhoun St.

Free flu vaccines will be available for individuals 14 and older. In addition, there will be free glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol screenings for adults.

The event is made possible by Walgreens, the Midwest Alliance for Health Education (funded by St. Joseph Community Health Foundation, Parkview Hospital and the Schneider Foundation); and Parkview’s Community Nursing Program. Interpreters will be provided by Catherine Kasper Place and the Burmese Advocacy Center.
